Possible Challenges

Like every other business, One Faber Group has its own set of challenges. What are they? Continue reading to find out the possible challenges I feel One Faber Group may be facing.

Now, the first challenge I feel is that the attractions pricing may be on the pricier side. A single attraction may not cost a lot, however, imagine having to visit all the different attractions by One Faber Group in a day. It would cost a quite a lot. Having to consider the meals, souvenirs from the gift shops and other costs.

There are a lot of other attractions on Sentosa island and I feel that this can be seen as a challenge as they may choose them over One Faber Group's due to the price.

Take Universal Studios Singapore or Adventure Cove as examples, their admission tickets may be expensive, but they can spend their day at these attractions and be entertained at the various rides for a full day. Since there are other attractions on Sentosa, visitors may be drawn to those attractions rather than the cable car, the Merlion or Wings of Time. These other attractions can also be seen as a threat to One Faber Group.

The second possible challenge would be its attractions' fun factor and its appeal. Although each attraction has its own strength and is unique in their own ways, visitors may not want revisit them as everything will remain without any changes.

For example, I honestly wouldn't pay to watch Wings of Time again. Despite it being really mind blowing and beautiful, but the plot and skit will remain the same and there wouldn't be any new element of surprise. I believe other visitors will have the same mindset as they wouldn't want to pay to watch the same show again. Therefore, I feel that the attractions will not be able to attract repeated visitors.

The last challenge would have to be convenience. Travelling to Sentosa to visit these attraction is one problem, walking around Sentosa to get to the three attractions is another. The cable car, Wings of Time and the Merlion are not exactly very near to each other as they would require visitors to walk a distance (probably around 15 minutes), as compared to Universal Studios were all the rides and performances are near each other.

This challenge might just be a slight one, but it will still affect the visitation as they may feel that the attractions are too far from each other and choose to visit other attractions nearby instead.

After talking about the possible challenges, here is my SWOT analysis on One Faber Group based on my observations that day!

I feel that One Faber Group is a very strong company as its attractions are able to provide unique experiences to visitors. Wings of Time is the only permanent night show in the world and this made the attraction even more special. Since there is only one cable car in Singapore, this is also a very strong strength.

There is always two sides to a coin, thus, there are bound to be weaknesses too. As mentioned earlier, there is a lack of fun factor due to the unchanging attractions and lack of interactive materials. This can be seen as a weakness because tourists may not want to revisit the attraction again.

A few suggestions to improve the current situation would be to incorporate shuttle bus services as mentioned earlier, it is not really convenient to travel around Sentosa to get to the different attractions. Therefore, shuttle bus services may help to increase visitor satisfaction as well. There can also be more interactive materials at the Merlion such as a touch screen board where visitors can read up more information about the Merlion, or maybe more videos to  entertain visitors.

Lastly, the two threats I feel may put One Faber Group at risk would be price and competition.
